Building Skills, Creating Resources

Solidarity with South Sudan, through its primary teacher training project at the Solidarity Teacher Training College (STTC) in Yambio, has implemented an In-service program in Wau since January 2025. This program is specifically designed for practicing teachers who are currently employed in schools but lack official teaching certification. To address this gap, over 30 of these dedicated teachers attend afternoon classes after their regular school day to enhance their pedagogical skills and improve the quality of instruction in local schools. The training combines theoretical lessons with practical workshops, including the creation of essential teaching aids, crucial in resource-constrained schools. This initiative aims to equip existing educators with the qualifications and tools needed to provide effective education, ultimately benefiting students across the region.
