| On the feast day of Saint Giuseppina Bakhita, patron saint of Sudan and victims of trafficking, we join in prayer for peace in this land that is as beloved as it is wounded.
Her life, which went from slavery to the freedom of faith, remains a beacon of hope: “Be good, love the Lord, pray for those who do not know him. If only you knew what a great grace it is to know God!” As Solidarity with South Sudan, we seek every day to honour her legacy by transforming suffering into opportunity. Through the training of nurses, teachers and farmers, we work to build the freedom and peaceful future that Saint Bakhita dreamed of for her people. May her example of forgiveness and resilience inspire our steps towards a future of justice and dignity for every human being. 🙏 Saint Bakhita, pray for South Sudan and support our journey alongside this people. |
