On Easter Monday, the Sustainable Agriculture Project team had the privilege of distributing some gifts to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), who have now been settled for a year on land near the parish of Riimenze. The event took place at the project’s Community House to promote a sense of belonging and help the beneficiaries feel that Solidarity is truly their “second home”. In addition to basic foodstuffs such as rice, beans and sugar, they were also given numerous seedlings of groundnuts, maize, okra and aubergines. The beneficiaries’ joy was immense: with the fields already ready for sowing, these seeds represent much more than material aid; they are the promise of a bountiful harvest and the concrete hope of being able to provide for themselves. “These seeds are our future,” they said gratefully. A special thank you goes to our donors who, with their tireless support, care for these people like a true family. Together, we have turned a day of celebration into a shared journey towards hope for the future.
