| To mark International Nurses Day, we want to celebrate those who, with dedication and expertise, choose to devote themselves to saving lives, often overcoming obstacles that seem insurmountable.
For the “Change story” cycle, today we share the story of Sebit Oliver, a nursing student at the Catholic Health Training Institute (CHTI) in Wau. After years of uncertainty and rejected applications, Sebit did not give up: he turned the pain of losing loved ones, who had been left without proper care, into the drive to become a qualified healthcare professional. Today, thanks to the quality of the training he has received, he looks to the future with optimism, ready to work anywhere in the country to bring health and hope to the most vulnerable communities. To him and to all the nurses who lay the foundations for the future of healthcare in South Sudan and around the world every day, we express our deepest gratitude. .
