| On the occasion of International Youth Day on 12 August, we celebrate the courage and determination of the younger generations in South Sudan. In a country facing profound challenges, young people are not only the future, but the very foundations upon which the present is built.
Through the projects run by Solidarity with South Sudan, we see this transformation taking place every day: young people from different ethnic groups study and live together in training centres to become teachers, nurses and midwives; young men and women meet regularly for workshops on leadership and empowerment organized by the pastoral team. By overcoming the divisions of the past, they are learning to care for their own communities, transforming education and work into powerful tools for peace and development. Investing in young people means replacing resignation with hope. Supporting their educational journey is the most concrete way to foster a future of dignity and reconciliation for the whole of South Sudan.
