| It is with great pleasure that Solidarity with South Sudan welcomes the election of Sr Margaret Scott as Congregational Leader of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions (RNDM) for the term 2026–2032.
Sr Margaret is a figure of great importance to the Solidarity family. For many years, she has been a pillar of our mission, serving as Principal of the Solidarity Teacher Training College (STTC) in Yambio. Under her visionary leadership, the college has trained hundreds of teachers, making a tangible contribution to educational development and peace-building in the country. Furthermore, she is the first Solidarity member to be entrusted with a role of such great responsibility. Her appointment marks a significant moment that unites missionary experience in the field with the global leadership of her Congregation. The official handover took place on 5 April, Easter Sunday. We extend our warmest wishes to Sr Margaret as she begins this new ministry, confident that her deep understanding of the challenges facing South Sudan, as well as her direct experience with Solidarity, will continue to inspire her commitment to serving the Church and the world.
