Solidarity with South Sudan is looking for religious personnel for its projects!
The theme of the Season of Creation for 2023 is taken from the writings of the prophet Amos: “Let justice flow on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream” (5:24).
We are called to stand with our innocent sisters and support them.
Jesus has indeed been raised from the dead.
A grateful tribute to Sister Joan for her extraordinary commitment as president of Friends in Solidarity
Solidarity with South Sudan is seeking additional religious personnel for our ministries in South Sudan. Learn more by reading the letter from our Mission promoter!
Scholasticah Nganda, a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy and director of the pastoral programmes of Solidarity with South Sudan, tells of her experience, emphasising the need to support South Sudanese women and girls, who are the main victims of the violence of the armed conflicts in their country.
“When I met the Pope in person at an audience through the congregation, he encouraged me to continue in the mission. He said to me: “Keep carrying the Good News wherever it is needed.” I believe that what the Pope wants from us missionaries is that we continue to be witnesses of the Good News of Christ precisely close to the people who suffer, close to the poor. That is why, perhaps, we missionaries have a place in his heart”
Solidarity has been an early example of Pope Francis’ call for a synodal process “to walk together, listening to the Holy Spirit and to each [church] member, since all the baptized have an instinctive ability to discern the new ways that the Lord is revealing to the Church.”
