South Sudan: growing crisis

In recent months, the humanitarian needs of the population of South Sudan have continued to increase due to internal conflicts, food insecurity, displacement, epidemics, climate shocks and economic decline. It is estimated that 7.8 million people will face a severe crisis with 43,000 people potentially experiencing food insecurity in several counties. Added to this is the large number of people displaced by the war in Sudan seeking refuge in the neighbouring country, creating additional tensions and needs especially in border areas. HERE is the latest snapshot for July 2023 produced by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
