Today, 8 March, we celebrate International Women’s Day,
an occasion to honour women’s achievements and reflect on the challenges that still persist. In South Sudan, women face immense difficulties, exacerbated by conflict, poverty and gender inequality. Watch the VIDEO HERE Despite this, South Sudanese women demonstrate extraordinary resilience. They are wives, mothers, entrepreneurs and the life pulse of their communities. Solidarity with South Sudan stands by their side, supporting projects that promote education, economic empowerment and gender equality education. Through professional training programmes, savings groups and maternal health initiatives, Solidarity helps women to build a better future for themselves and their families. A concrete example is the Catholic Health Training Institute, where every year dozens of women become qualified midwives and nurses, agents of change for themselves and their families. Join us in the GoFundMe campaign and help make this transformation a reality for many more women in South Sudan. |
