| In a country marked by decades of conflict, violence and abuse, reconstruction cannot be achieved through material aid alone, but must reach people’s hearts. Trauma healing is one of the fundamental pillars of Solidarity with South Sudan’s commitment, as there can be no peaceful future and no shared, lasting peace without addressing and healing the deep scars left by the past.
Through workshops and memory healing programs organized by our pastoral team in numerous dioceses, each person can give voice to their pain and begin a journey of personal healing. This work allows people to rediscover their inner strength and dignity, helping those who have suffered to find a sense of peace and hope for their lives. Healing trauma means giving each person the opportunity to reclaim their present, transforming the burden of suffering into the resilience needed to move forward. Supporting these journeys means healing invisible wounds and giving South Sudan the strength to start again. |
