From farm to table: CHTI’s vegetable garden has been renewed!

At the Catholic Health Training Institute (CHTI) in Wau, health is not only learned from books, but also begins in the soil. Our college is proud of its kitchen garden, where we carefully cultivate a wide variety of vegetables, such as cabbage, okra and tomatoes, which help to supply the campus kitchen, ensuring that students have access to locally grown produce.

Recently, the cultivated area has been expanded and improved, and new crops have been planted. Assisted by dedicated staff, many students contribute to the maintenance and care of the garden. It is a commitment that teaches the value of sustainability and self-sufficiency and also allows future nurses and midwives to understand the value of nutrition and prevention, skills that they will take with them when they return to serve their home communities.
