We are pleased to officially welcome Ohide Joseph Akilleo, who joined the Solidarity with South Sudan (SwSS) family on 1 June 2023 in the role of ‘Quality Assurance Manager’ based in Juba. This is how he talks about his new work experience
“It is so marvelous managing projects that bridge social divides and neutralize traditional gender social norms, taboos and beliefs that perpetuate gender-based agony. I appreciate SWSS for recognizing, valuing and taking account of people’s different backgrounds with special consideration of intrinsic human dignity as priority. For I am compelled with love in solidarity with SwSS institutions to back up the already existing efforts to restore the diminished hope of the communities and uplift the agency of the underrepresented groups, especially women and girls. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel as we jointly move towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). There are already many women and girls among men and boys taking lead teaching in schools, treating the sick in the health facilities, securing sustainable livelihoods and widening opportunities for their family’s well-being and increasing income source avenues in the communities. On a significant note, within a short range of time in the SwSS family, I have loved the skills I am learning on the job every minute. Human resources and administrative roles are exceptional. The magnificent team culture of SwSS and the working environment promotes and upholds equality, diversity, respect, performance management and development, with intrinsic human dignity as an overriding principle. It is a profound honor and spectacular privilege serving humanity jointly with everyone in the SwSS family.” |
