| Emanuela and Alice, two members of the Solidarity with South Sudan staff from the Fundraising and Communication Office in Rome, have just returned from an extraordinary experience: two intense weeks in South Sudan, discovering the projects and the Solidarity team. A trip full of emotions and significant encounters.
They visited the project sites in Juba, Yambio, Riimenze and Wau, touching with their own hands the commitment of Solidarity in promoting development and peaceful coexistence in such a complex but fascinating territory. They got to know personally the teams at work in the various projects and had the opportunity to talk to the beneficiaries of the activities: students, women, teachers, bringing home a wealth of stories and exceptional humanity. Emanuela and Alice’s trip was a valuable opportunity to learn more about the challenges and opportunities in South Sudan, and to strengthen the link between the Rome office and the teams on the ground. Their testimonies and the materials collected during the trip will be fundamental in raising awareness and renewing the commitment of all stakeholders involved in the projects. Special thanks go to the missionaries working in South Sudan, witnessing with their lives the values of solidarity, justice and perseverance.
