The Value of Dialogue: Parent-Teacher Meetings at the Riimenze Nursery School

Recently, the Saint Dominic Nursery School in Riimenze held its first Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting to address the complex challenges that arise in the educational context. Often, meetings like this reveal the immensity of the difficulties: a large number of students with few qualified teachers, the perception by some parents that their only role is to pay tuition fees, the lack of teaching materials, the presence of older children still in nursery school, and the shortage of adequate classrooms. Despite the emergence of significant problems, these meetings represent crucial moments of open dialogue, sharing and lively discussion that can lead to the identification of concrete solutions, also involving key figures such as the parish priest or other community leaders. Actively engaging parents in school activities and programmes is essential for building a relationship of trust and encouraging community collaboration.
