| The second semester of the 2025 school year ended with great success for the Saint Dominic and Savio Nursery School in Riimenze, which cares for 357 children. At the heart of this achievement is a group of qualified teachers whose dedication goes far beyond simple teaching.
Of the five teachers on staff, four are graduates of Solidarity Teachers Training College (STTC), demonstrating the importance of high-quality training. Two new teachers, Ms. Irene Martin and Ms. Maria Anguace, joined the team this semester. Before classes began, the entire staff participated in a three-day workshop aimed at defining the school’s vision and mission, thus reinforcing their commitment to providing an education rooted in Gospel values. Their role, however, is not limited to teaching: each teacher has additional responsibilities, from coordinating meals to managing discipline. This versatility and their constant commitment are reflected in the children’s progress. The most rewarding testimony comes from the parents: when collecting their children’s exam results, we heard words of deep gratitude that demonstrate their impact: “My children speak English at home“, “My son can now write his name”, and “My son’s health has improved because the teachers taught him how to take care of his body.” The passion and dedication of our teachers are truly changing the lives of the children of Riimenze, building a brighter future for them. Support education, ensure a better future for children in South Sudan!
