Alumni on Mission as Literacy Specialists

Some alumni of Solidarity Teacher Training College (STTC) have successfully completed an internship programme at the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL) South Sudan in Literacy and Education (L&E) Department.

This programme trained the graduates as Literacy and Education Specialists, equipping them with the technical skills essential to support the diverse minority language communities of South Sudan. In their new role, participants collaborate with local speakers to develop fundamental teaching materials, such as syllabaries, primers and folk tales, all strictly in their respective Mother Tongues (MT).

The beneficiaries of this programme expressed deep gratitude to the STTC administration and supporters for offering them a holistic education that trained them not only as primary school teachers but as educators for the entire education sector.
