| From 9 to 11 May 2026, St. Bakhita Primary School in Narus hosted a trauma healing and empowerment workshop for 109 girls, aged between 13 and 17, who had been rescued from early marriage in the Toposa community.
Led by the Solidarity Pastoral Team and supported by Mercy Beyond Borders, the workshop ‘My Body, My Story, My Strength’ offered these young women a safe space to process their trauma, rediscover their self-worth and learn to manage their emotions through Capacitar mindfulness exercises. The results were profound. Amidst the smiles, songs and dances, the initial shyness gave way to a newfound confidence. As one participant shared: “This workshop has changed my life”, whilst another stated emphatically: “Now I know that life is precious”.
