Solidarity Strategic Plan Sessions

On 15 and 16 March 2023, the Solidarity Strategic Plan sessions for 2023-2027 took place in Rome, involving board members and staff from Rome and numerous congregations belonging to the USG and UISG, which are supporting Solidarity from the beginning. Over the two days, work was organised in working groups and plenary discussions. The main topics were ongoing projects, working methodologies, critical issues, sustainability, but also the review and actualization of Solidarity‘s values and mission after 15 years of commitment in South Sudan. It was a very interesting and constructive experience of sharing with the active participation of about 40 people, including sisters and brothers from 25 congregations, Sr Pat Murray, as UISG secretary and first Solidarity Executive Director, and Br Emili Turú Rofes, as USG secretary. It was also a way to introduce the newly appointed superiors general to the mission of Solidarity and to discuss with them and others who have been involved for some time how to develop in the long term and further improve the effectiveness of our presence and experience of more than a decade in South Sudan.

We will update you in the next Annual General Assembly with the final proposal: all of us being together to discuss and contribute our ideas made it such a rich step in the process.
