Today, on World Health Day 2025 – “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures” – we focus our attention on the stark reality of South Sudan, where approximately 1 in 20 women die during childbirth and infant mortality tragically claims more than 60 victims per 1,000 live births. Qualified midwives are a lifeline in this crisis, providing essential care for a healthy start and a hopeful future.
Solidarity with South Sudan with the Catholic Health Training Institute (CHTI) is helping to save lives by training around 50 nurses and midwives each year to dramatically improve maternal and child survival rates across the country. By providing them with the necessary skills, we are directly investing in safer deliveries and a healthier start in life for babies. Join us in supporting these life-saving efforts! Your contribution to our GoFundMe campaign enables us to continue training future midwives in South Sudan. |
