At Catholic Health Training Institute (CHTI) in Wau, the training programme includes lessons and practical drills on crisis management to ensure a timely response in challenging situations. Recently, third-year nursing students completed an emergency response simulation, acquiring the skills needed to deal with natural or humanitarian disasters. At the same time, midwifery students have been studying the MISP (‘Minimum Initial Service Package’) protocol in depth to ensure essential reproductive health services are provided to populations affected by critical situations. These training programmes are essential for preparing healthcare professionals capable of working effectively even in emergency contexts in South Sudan.
