The STTC students’ practical experience

School practice at the Solidarity Teacher Training College (STTC) is a fundamental pillar in the education of future teachers in South Sudan, guiding them through a gradual and highly structured learning journey.

The experience begins with an initial phase of guided observation in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and primary classrooms, where student teachers analyze classroom dynamics, group management, and the application of teaching methods. Subsequently, aspiring teachers move on to active lesson planning and block teaching, eventually taking full, independent responsibility for primary classes.

Conducted in close collaboration with partner schools and local communities, this direct immersion enables students to put child-centered, participatory methodologies into practice and build the professional skills needed to navigate the daily educational realities of South Sudan.
