A Future That Grows: Supporting IDPs in Riimenze

Ongoing insecurity in South Sudan continues to put civilians—especially women and children—at extreme risk of violence. Since February 2025, local conflicts in Western Equatoria State have escalated.

In Riimenze, the number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) is rising steadily. Many families have already sought refuge near the Catholic Church, and each week, new faces arrive, fleeing violence in their villages. Solidarity with South Sudan is supporting the parish in its efforts to provide assistance, and we have been able to distribute food.

However, with the rainy season approaching, providing seeds and farming tools would enable these families to grow their own food and regain a sense of stability.

The parish priest has allocated land for cultivation, offering 30 families (165 people, mostly women and children) the opportunity to start growing maize, vegetables, and groundnuts.

Solidarity with South Sudan is supporting this initiative, ensuring that these families receive the help they need to rebuild their lives with dignity and self-reliance.

With $132, we can provide seeds and essential farming tools for families.

1 bags of groundnuts – $25

1 bag of maize – $30

1 bag of green grams – $2

1 bag of beans – $20

1 hoe (for planting/cultivating) – $30

1 panga (machete for cultivation) – $25

Join us in giving these families the chance to rebuild their lives—one seed at a time.

Together, we can help them grow a future filled with hope.

Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.
