| On World Teachers’ Day, meet Bingo Louis Biro, a former student of Solidarity Teacher Training College (STTC), who turned a lack of opportunity into a school for his community. After the local school closed, Bingo, the only one in his large family to have a diploma, decided to put his training to good use and give something back to the community. He founded a school that now has 351 students, many of whom are Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Listen to his story HERE and discover his innovative approach, which includes teaching the local language as a form of inclusion and using songs as a tool for trauma healing for children affected by conflict. This is a powerful story of a teacher who is shaping the future of South Sudan with limited resources but boundless hope.
