Thanks Sister Joan

As you may know, Friends in Solidarity is an initiative of US Catholic religious men and women in support of religious working in South Sudan. In these years, the aid we received from this Association-partner and, above all, from Sister Joan Mumaw was extraordinary.

Sr Joan will step down as President of Friends in Solidarity in February, so we want to join the FiS team to celebrate her passionate commitment for our projects in South Sudan.

Working with Sister Joan over this past year has been a pleasure.  She has been one of my mentors as I learned about Solidarity and my new role of Mission Promoter.  I wish her all the best in her next adventure, where I know, she will continue to make a difference in the lives of others“—Father David Gentry

“I have known Sr. Joan for almost 3 years now. She is an important guide for all of us. It is a wonderful experience working with her; her optimism and great energy are an example to all of us. With her energy and her professionalism, Sr. Joan taught us that every great result is achievable“. Emanuela De Mattia

It has been a great honour to work together with Joan. She is a great inspiration for all of us for her great example of dedication to promote the awareness of the dignity of the South Sudanese people and the respect for the diversity” – Claudia Nicolò

Joan has been and still remains a key reference point for our team. Her intelligence, enthusiasm and expertise are an example of professional commitment and personal involvement to follow. As I only joined Solidarity in 2021, I am sorry I could not work with her for longer” –  Alice Ricordy

Here you can see the video with which the FiS staff wants to honor her life and legacy.

Once again, many thanks Joan!
