![]() Rose Edward Zomai, 52 years old is a member of a savings group started through the Solidarity Saving Scheme Programme. She got financing to start up a business where she sells cassava, tea, fuel and charcoal. Rose Edward’s story is a powerful testimony to the resilience of the human spirit in coping with situations of loss and grief. Forced to flee her home and witness the death of her husband during the crisis in South Sudan, Rose feared for the survival of her children. In this extract, Rose shares her touching definition of peace and her hopes for her war-torn country. Rose’s experience as an internally displaced person in Yambio highlights the challenges women face in rebuilding their lives.
