| Dear Friends,
Many greetings of peace from Solidarity with South Sudan. We are deeply grateful for your ongoing support of our intercongregational program, founded in response to the call of the Bishops of South Sudan in 2006. Today, as the country continues to endure the consequences of decades of civil war and ecological fragility, the mission of Solidarity remains as urgent and relevant as ever. As we prepare to celebrate Laudato Sì Week (May 24–31, 2025), we see this as a meaningful opportunity to renew our collective commitment to care for our common home and all who dwell in it. One dimension of our mission has come into sharper focus in recent years and now stands as a cornerstone of our new Strategic Plan (2024–2027): the urgent need to address the environmental challenges that most acutely impact South Sudan’s vulnerable populations. Laudato Si’ reminds us that the ecological crisis is inseparable from the suffering of the poor. This truth is tragically evident in South Sudan. In this spirit, we are launching a special campaign in support of our Sustainable Agriculture Project in Riimenze, a flagship initiative that unites ecological care with human dignity and development in:
This mission is not only about agriculture—it is about dignity, sustainability, and hope. Your prayers, financial help and generosity have been instrumental in supporting our work in the years. Every contribution is helping us sow seeds of transformation in South Sudan. It is a tangible way to live out the message of Laudato Si’ and help build a more just and sustainable world. THANKS!
