| This Monday, 2 February, we celebrate World Day for Consecrated Life, a special occasion to honour the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving the Gospel. In the same spirit of grace, we joyfully celebrate the commitment of Solidarity with South Sudan, founded in 2008 by the International Union of Superiors General (UISG), and Union of Superiors General (USG). This mission remains a prophetic sign of collaboration and shared hope by the many religious men and women who have been working tirelessly for the South Sudanese people ever since.
Their witness shines brightly in South Sudan, where four vital projects bring hope to communities in need. Today we celebrate their different charisms and collaboration, their radical evangelical living and prophecy, indeed a new paradigm. Passion for God, passion for humanity means, for these women and men, a discovery of how to live in community while serving people in greater need, the marginilized, unfortunately those who are in danger of being, the wretched of the earth. But their resilience and courage, keep us prophetically human.
