Fresh Coat of Hope at Masiya Primary School

Making a difference in a school often starts with the simplest things. During their tSchool Practice activities, some students from the Solidarity Teacher Training College (STTC) rolled up their sleeves, grabbed paintbrushes and paint, and repainted the blackboard at Masiya Primary School in Yambio.
As a little water is sprinkled on the floor to keep the dust down, amid brushstrokes and laughter, the children’s enthusiasm is contagious. It’s a concrete demonstration of what it means to train tomorrow’s teachers: teaching them not only to impart knowledge, but also to care for the school environment and their communities, even in the most remote areas. Watch the short VIDEO!
A special thank you to the Masiya community for their hospitality and to our future teachers for their daily dedication!
