| On this International Women’s Day, our thoughts go out to the women of South Sudan. In a context marked by enormous challenges, they are the true pillars of resilience: mothers, farmers, students, teachers and health professionals who never stop believing in the future and in peace.
We see them every day in our projects: they come because they have been determined enough to challenge the many difficulties imposed by scarce economic resources, early bereavements, repeated displacement and frequent ostracism by fathers and husbands. Despite all this, they manage not to give up and to claim their space and their right to study and aspire to a better life for themselves and their communities. South Sudanese women are not just victims of a crisis, but the main protagonists of change. They are the ones who mend the social fabric, teach their children forgiveness and keep hope alive where others see only barrenness. Today, we celebrate their courage, their dignity and their ability to stay strong, setting an example for us all. Supporting women in South Sudan is not only an act of solidarity, but the safest investment for a future of peace and justice.
